Cooperative Media is a non profit organization that helps to connect local artists and multimedia producers to work on collaborative projects. As a team we can more easily create high quality products and share open source content, providing a superabundance of material that will all be freely featured on a creative common’s website. Our goal is to launch a new public access media network that has the power to reach a mainstream audience and bring local productions to global attention.
All people have an ability to learn new trades, develop valuable skills, and with a little practice can become proficient artists and multimedia producers. We are mobilizing people in our community to be more actively involved with arts and media production. It is surprising how many amazing human beings live right in our neighborhood that are unknown to us; there is so much extraordinary local talent, an incredible potential exists within our communities that is being untapped!
We encourage local artists and media producers to work as a team to build a broad network of support. It can be difficult to complete projects alone, and some tasks inherently require the help of others. We are introducing a social networking site that will enable people to find other local artists and media producers in their surrounding communities; users can even search for specific resources and find different services on a map!
